Wow. The scenery is beautiful and you forget you are in KS. The bluffs are amazing.
Stellar facilities, excellent administration; the lake level is pretty low, probably because lack of inflow and water rights owned by a nearby municipality. I would definitely recommend camping here.
Don't bother trying to fish here. The only fish in this lake are carp. Some lacking biologist thought putting thousands of dead trees in the shallows was a good idea.
Quiet, clean, no firewood. A+ shower house. We tent camped one night on our way back from Colorado and loved it. Easy self check-in and lots of sites to choose from. I don't know why this facility is out in the middle of nowhere, but my family loves it.
Shame, the place has so much potential.
The lake looks very strange with all those upright dead trees standing in military order.
